The Cotswolds is a most remarkable area, and beautiful both in its landscape and quiet, understated architecture. The distinctive creamy ochre stone is in perfect harmony with the undulating hills and valleys. And we seek to turn this harmony into musical concord with our small, but growing festival of music in the magnificent church of St Peter & St Paul in the market town of Northleach.
a message from our artistic director
Richard Boothby

While last year saw just one performance with the wonderful Dame Emma Kirkby, this year have three events, and I’m thrilled that we have maintained the highest standards with artists of real distinction and achievement.
Stile Antico have shot to fame in a few short years and have left audiences enthralled all over the globe, not least recently when they stopped the show at the Grammys awards ceremony in New York.
Rachel Podger is often spoken of as not ‘one of’, but ‘the’ best baroque violinist in the world today. Her recitals and concerto performances are highlights of any music series and festival, and ours is no exception. Her performances of Bach’s solo violin music always powerful experiences and are not to be missed.
And last but not least, Fretwork, the viol consort that is over 30 years old, are presenting a varied programme from nearly 500 years of music: there are no boundaries in music.
