An Evening of Glorious Music in Northleach

There are many wonderful treasures in the Cotswolds and none more precious jewels than the beautiful churches, which lie hidden in the rolling hills and define the landscape and character of this area.

“The Cotswold Festival of Music was established in 2017 to bring together the highest music making ... played in and against the backdrop of these beautiful churches.”

Launched on Sunday 4th June 2017 with the aim of presenting a weekend of concerts taking place on the first weekend of June each year — the Cotswold Festival of Music is a celebration of classical music – predominantly featuring English composers, but also embracing many wonderful composers on period instruments.

Our first event was a single concert featuring Dame Emma Kirkby and a group of wonderful musicians assembled by the Festival’s Artistic Director – Richard Boothby, which featured Steven Devine on the harpsichord, Richard himself on the bass viol and Jamie Akers on the lute (who stood-in for Jakob Lindberg). The event was a huge success and can only get bigger and better.

In 2018, we had a magical program of chorale music by Stile Antico, an evening master class on the violin with Rachel Podger and a brilliant Sunday performance by Fretwork.
